The Government of Roraima delivered on Wednesday, 7, more than 160 contemplation letters from the program Aqui Tem Morar Melhor. The ceremony, organized by Codesaima (Roraima Development Company), took place at the Dr. Luiz Rittler de Lucena Military State School, bringing together residents from ten neighborhoods in the capital.
The event was led by Governor Antonio Denarium, accompanied by the vice-governor and Secretary of Infrastructure, Edilson Damião. The president of Codesaima, Maria Dantas, and her technical team also participated in organizing the delivery.
In addition to the letters, service orders were signed with the 38 companies responsible for the works. “In 15 days, the companies will start the renovations,” the governor stated.
Each benefited residence will receive up to R$ 8,000 in state resources for improvements. The beneficiaries have the autonomy to define the renovations in their homes, which may include the installation of ceramics, PVC ceilings, repairs in bathrooms, hydraulic or electrical systems, among other options.
The neighborhoods served in this stage were: Raiar do Sol, Senador Hélio Campos, Nova Cidade, Laura Moreira, Cidade Satélite, João de Barro, Dr. Airton Rocha, Equatorial, Caranã, and São Bento.
During the ceremony, Denarium highlighted the profile of the benefiting families. “Today is the day for another delivery of the Aqui Tem Morar Melhor program. There are more than 160 families benefited with a renovation in their homes worth up to R$ 8,000. And who are the beneficiaries? They are low-income families with certain characteristics: homes where the woman is the head of the family; homes with a person with physical disabilities; homes with elderly persons; in other words, those who truly need the support of the State Government,” he declared.
Among the beneficiaries is Zelinda Damasceno, self-employed and a resident of the Dr. Airton Rocha neighborhood. Mother of three, she requested the installation of ceramics on the porch. “My youngest daughter had no place to play. She would scratch herself on the rough floor. Now it will be very good,” she commented.
Vanusa Rodrigues, from the Senador Hélio Campos neighborhood, also celebrated the achievement. Head of a family of four, she chose to renovate the bathroom and the bedroom. “I sell perfumes, and what I earn has to buy food, pay bills; it wasn’t enough. This renovation will change a lot for me and my children,” she reported.
