Botafogo’s Victory Against Carabobo
On April 8th at the renowned Nilton santos Stadium, Botafogo celebrated its inaugural win of this year’s Copa Libertadores by overcoming Venezuelan team carabobo with an extraordinary score of 2–0.
This victory was important for Alvinegro as they earned their first three points after two matches played. Their upcoming challenge will be against Argentina’s Estudiantes on April 23rd at Jorge Luis Hirschi Stadium in Buenos Aires.
A Match Full of Chances
Although facing an opponent deemed less skilled technically, Botafogo generated numerous opportunities throughout the game but initially struggled to convert these into goals.
the breakthrough finally arrived late in the second half when Patrick de Paula scored from distance via a deflected free kick at the 42-minute mark. just ten minutes later, Matheus Martins confirmed the win with an accurate shot across goal within the box.
